Why Learn a Foreign Language?

People learn languages for all sorts of reasons.

• I have to take a language class for school.
• I need to learn a language for work.
• I fell in love with someone who speaks another language.
• My extended family speaks a different language.
• I love to travel.
• I heard there are good TV series or movies in a different language.
• Add your own.

Now What?

Most people would do one of the following things:

• Enroll in a formal language course.
• Download an app (Duolingo, Rosetta Stone, Pimsleur, etc.).
• Buy a book or audio course.

Most people who embark on the journey of learning a new language never reach their intended destination. Somehow the least effective methods for learning a language are the most popular while the most effective methods are overlooked.
